Midaq Alley
Manal AlDowayan x Nobel Museum
Artist Manal AlDowayan was commissioned by the Nobel Museum to create an artwork to respond to a Nobel Prize winning laureates book: Midaq Alley By Nagiub Mahfouz. The piece is a magical interpretation of Mahfouz’s Midaq Alley. The artist asked us to place some of the cinematic renditions of Mahfouz’s novels into a series of cast orbs. Requiring us to develop a process for casting LCD screens into globes made from scratch.
